The Late Elder Shaun Wright

Shaun E. Wright was born February 12, 1974 in the Borough of Kings, New York. Shaun was raised by his maternal grandmother, Elizabeth M. Wright. At a tender age of 4, his mother placed him in the church under the care of his uncle, whom raised and nurtured him as his own.

Shaun received his early education in the New York City school system. He continued his secondary education in Baltimore, Maryland at Morgan State University, in which he studied Political Science. After leaving Morgan and working for a season at various places, he returned to school and completed his Bachelors of Arts in Public administration from Metropolitan College of New York in 2007.

While at Morgan, Shaun founded a local campus ministry named “Only Christ Ministries, Incorporated. In 1993, Shaun received a charge from God to establish a Gospel work while there. Beginning with a few faithful brothers, who met for bible study, the ministry grew to a structured organization providing counseling, prayer, bible study, pastoral care and Christian fellowship to the students of Morgan State and the surrounding Baltimore City area.

Likened unto Samuel, who was dedicated unto the Lord in his youth, Brother Wright was raised in the House of God. As a faithful and grounded pillar in his local assembly, Shaun has served in several capacities: Sunday School Teacher, Junior Deacon, Usher Board Member, Youth Leader, Church Administrator, and Pastoral Armor Bearer.  He presently serves as an Associate Minister with pastoral oversight of the men’s ministry and church administration at the St. Paul Pentecostal Church in Brooklyn, NY.  Elder Wright functions as a pastor, teacher, and counselor in the Body of Christ.

Elder Wright strives to walk worthy of his vocation in which he was called. He is often led of the Spirit to instruct in spiritual order, biblical government, and other foundational and doctrinal truths. His no-nonsense and determined leadership style makes him much sought as an advisor. Elder is currently heavily involved in his local community, he serves as president of Monroe Street Block Association, serves as president of Citizens for A Better Community, which a local organization for the betterment of their neighborhoods, member of the 81st Precinct Clergy Council, member of 81st Precinct Community Council, and a member of the Greater New York Ministerial Alliance.

Elder Wright believes that the Body of Christ must serve God with such a level of consistency that the fruits of dedication and commitment are produced. He stresses that leaders in Christendom should operate in the spirit of excellence, disciple men and women in the call of faithfulness and holiness, and prepare believers for the work of ministry for the 21st century.

Above all his ministerial functions, civic engagement, and academic achievement, Elder Wright’s greatest joys in life is that he is the husband of his beloved wife, Staci Lorraine and the proud father of four, Chanelle Paulina, Andrew Jordan, Elizabeth Morgan, and Alexandria Elyn. He is also the proud grandfather of Carrington Paige.

Elder Wright went home to be with our Lord and Savior on September 25, 2018. His legacy still lives on in the church, in the community, and in his family.
